Boise Flower and Garden Show
One doesn’t often think of Boise and bonsai at the same time, but the latter will be featured in the former during the 14th Annual Flower and Garden Show. It’ll be held in the Centre on the Grove , Boise, Idaho, March 26-28, 2010.
There’s the usual — display gardens, gardening seminars, ideas for landscape design, garden art and decor, yard furniture, plants, decks, greenhouses etc., but also orchid and bonsai displays. The orchids (some of which will be for sale) are from Jolah Orchids in Ontario, Oregon. The Boise Bonsai Society sponsors the bonsai display.
The gardening seminars, spaced over all three days of the show, are sponsored by the Idaho Botanical Garden. In addition to the usual, there’ll be presentations by Melinda Myers (pictured, above left), author of some 20 gardening books, including Can’t Miss Small Space Gardening. She is the host of the nationally syndicated “Melinda’s Garden Moments” and a columnist for Birds & Blooms, which is sponsoring her appearance.
