oregon_portland_lsgarden_fragranceFrom March 20 through 31, 2010, it’s a “Festival of Fragrance” at the Lan Su Chinese Garden, 239 Northwest Everett Street, Portland, Oregon. There’ll be a plant sale, a camellia display from the Oregon Camellia Society, and other activities, including aromatherapy talks, flower arranging workshops with fragrant plants, and tours with the Garden’s horticulture staff of fragrant plants inside the Garden.

The plant sale is March 20 and 21, 2010, featuring more than 20 nurseries. Located just outside the Garden walls in the parking lot to the north of the Garden, the sale will feature plants typical of China, including orchids, rhododendrons, camellias, edgeworthia, daphne, and bamboo–including many fragrant types and plants found within the Garden’s own collection. Proceeds of the plant sale support the Garden’s ongoing horticultural work. The complete list of vendors is online.

The Garden opened to the public on September 14, 2000. Check out its history .
