A quick heads-up for Road Trips Gardeners who’ll be near Gainesville, Florida, on Saturday, April 24, 2010. The “first annual” Garden Bike Tour sets off in the morning to visit gardens around town. Put your bicycle in the car and arrive at to the Downtown Plaza in Gainesville between 9 and 11 a.m. For a $20 registration fee, you’ll get an event t-shirt, bike tour map and entrance to the 5 p.m. to midnight music festival at the Citizens Co-op’s storefront, 435 South Main, Gainesville. The tour takes you on a 14-mile loop of public and private gardens throughout Gainesville. It’s sponsored by the Citizens Co-op, a natural food market focused on supplying fresh local food and produce.
