Twelve private gardens in Louisville, Kentucky, will be on display next Saturday (June 5, 2010) during the Crescent Hill Garden Tour. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and tickets are $10 per person.

Road Trips Gardeners can look out over the city from a hilltop oasis, explore the hidden whimsy of a secret garden, visit a year-round greenhouse studio and learn from environmental innovators while visiting a sampling of the neighborhood’s garden offerings. This year’s featured sites range from the formal to the artsy, from gardens designed to fit on a sunny, rocky hillside to a quiet space brimming with shade plants.

This year, for the 16th annual tour, the sites are clustered, allowing visitors to park and visit several nearby gardens at one time. The event will be held, rain or shine. Tickets can be purchased on the day of the tour at 205 South Peterson Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky.

If you won’t be in northern Kentucky this weekend, don’t despair. Two more garden tours are scheduled in Louisville this summer: the Audubon Park Garden Tour is June 19, 2010, and the Old Louisville Hidden Treasures Garden Tour is July 10 and 11, 2010.
