Botanical art provides a different view of the garden, often incorporating fantasy with reality. Some spectacular plant images from rare book and art collections are on display through January 29, 2011, in the Sterling Morton Library at the Morton Arboretum.

“Flora! Illuminated” is a non-traditional alphabetical exploration of images from the Suzette Morton Davidson Special Collections of the library. Snippets of song lyrics, poetry, and prose have been selected to accompany the images. The exhibit highlights artwork and rare books in the collection (pictured is a sampling from A Floral Fantasy in an Old English Garden).

The Flora! Illuminated Exhibit is open now through January 29, 2011, in the Sterling Morton Library, Morton Arboretum, 4100 Illinois Route 53, Lisle, Illinois.
