The London Autumn Harvest Show will be held October 5 and 6, 2010, in the Royal Horticultural Society’s Horticultural Halls, Greycoat Street, London, England. Tickets are £5 for the first day, and a discounted £3 for the second (they’re for sale online).

For the first time Alex Denman (show manager for the legendary Chelsea Show), will be turning her talents to this show, also sponsored by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). She plans a floral and foodie feast where visitors can see, taste and buy some of the wonders of the season. There’ll be gardening displays, but also fun activities such as apple-bobbing.

One of the highlights will be a spectacular ‘walk-round’ feature of dahlias and fruit and vegetables by Jon Wheatley, in association with Winchester Growers. Jon helped design the gold medal-standard RHS feature, Home Grown, at Hampton and won gold medals at Hampton and RHS Chelsea for magnificent dahlia displays.

Another Chelsea 2010 Gold-medal winner, Interflora, will create a vast, curtain of autumn flowers and foliage draped from the ceiling.

Apples, pumpkins and carrots will line the tables of Lindley Hall for a major fruit and vegetable competition to showcase champion produce. Other harvest displays include coffee beans, chutney and olives.

The RHS is the United Kingdom’s leading gardening charity dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting good gardening.
