Florida Azalea Festival

You know how congested Florida gets in the winter, Road Trips Gardeners. That’s why it’s not too early to make plans to drop by the Florida Azalea Festival. The 65th annual edition will be held March 5 and 6, 2011, in Memorial Park and downtown Palatka, Florida.

Palatka is about half-way between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach, but it’s not on I-95. Look about 25 miles inland (towards Gainesville). While you’re there, consider a meal at Angel’s Diner (209 Reid Street, Palatka) — it claims to be the oldest in Florida.
