Spalding Flower Parade
The annual Flower Parade in Spalding, Lincolnshire, England, takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. April 30, 2011.
Tulips are the spring flower stars in this market town on the Welland River Welland in the part of the United Kingdom known as South Holland. The first parade was in 1959, although tulip celebrations in the area date as far back as the 1920s.
A single parade float, which can be as much as 50 feet in length, may be decorated by as many as 100,000 tulip heads.
