Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve
You know it’s spring when the orange, yellow and red poppies blanket the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve, about a two-hour drive north of Los Angeles, California.
You can find blooms as early as March, but the peak period for viewing the fields of flowers generally happens in mid-April. The reserve has eight miles of trails, and is open to visitors on a self pay/self guided basis.

In conjunction with the peak bloom of the California poppies in the Antelope Valley, nearby Lancaster, CA has a two day California Poppy Festival. This year the dates are April 16 & 17.
