Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

Toowoomba, a town in Queensland, Australia, is known as Garden City. And, since 1948, it’s been the setting for an annual Carnival of Flowers. This year’s event (which began September 16) runs through September 25, 2011.

The star attraction is one of the world’s leading floral designers, Per Benjamin of Benjamin’s Botaniska. He’ll create a feature display in The Gallery Space and host a demonstration and workshop series across the Festival weekend. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Per draws inspiration from working with flowers and fostering floral creativity in his peers. His passion is the combination of flowers and emotions: floral communication.

There’ll also be a Floral Parade, Flower, Food and Wine Festival and Twilight Garden Tours.
