Flower of the Day: Field Daisies
Field daisies bloom in profusion in Troyes, France.
This town ( about 90 miles southeast of Paris along the Seine River) was founded by the Romans, who named it Augustobona Tricassium. Many half-timbered houses (mainly of the 16th century) survive in the old town.
It’s the birthplace of Chrétien de Troyes, a French poet and trouvère who flourished in the late 12th century.
According to Wikipedia: Bellis perennis is a common European species of daisy, often considered the archetypal species of that name — and these are probably of this species.
