An exhibit titled “Creating Art with Nature” continues through June 3, 2012, at the Museum of Science, 1 Science Park, Boston, Massachusetts (map).

Bonsai is an art with an ancient history, having originated in China before becoming popularized in Japan. Road Trips Gardeners can contemplate these miniature trees and the art form behind their creation as well as explore the variety of trees that can be formed into bonsai, the tools used to shape them, and the formal Japanese styles.

Individual trees will be on display for short periods of time before being replaced. So, even if you visit more than once, you’ll have a different bonsai experience each time.

“Bonsai: Creating Art with Nature” was developed in collaboration with Bonsai West.
