Mid-America Bonsai Society Show & Sale

The Midwest Bonsai Society hosts one of the top bonsai shows and sales in the nation every third weekend of August at the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, Illinois (map).

This year’s dates are August 17 through 19, 2012. Hours on Friday are noon to 5 p.m.; on Saturday and Sunday, hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The show draws bonsai enthusiasts from all over the country to see the more than 100 bonsai on display. The bonsai marketplace features plants, books, tools, bonsai pots, and more. Workshops are held throughout the show and require advance registration.
