If you’re near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at the end of the month, consider rolling past the VanDusen Botanical Garden, 5521 Oak Street, Vancouver (map).

The first is the annual Compost & Spring Bulb Sale, held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. September 29, 2012, in the parking lot. On offer will be not only 20 kg bags of compost for CA$5, but a wide selection of bulbs.

The Dried Flower Sale is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. September 29, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. September 30, 2012. If you miss that weekend, this sale is repeated from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both October 27 and 28, 2012.

Featured are dried flower centerpieces themed for Thanksgiving and autumn, and wreaths made from materials gathered in the Garden. This sale is in the VanDusen Garden’s Visitor Centre.
