A fall plant sale is scheduled for October 20 and 21, 2012, in the Blount Plaza at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, 2612 Lane Park Road, Birmingham, Alabama (map).

Proceeds from the sale benefit The Gardens’ mission to promote public knowledge and appreciation of plants, gardens and the environment.

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens is Alabama’s largest living museum with more than 12,000 different plants in its living collections. The most-visited free attraction in Alabama, it is open from dawn to dusk daily with no admission or parking charge.

The Gardens’ 67.5 acres contains 25 gardens, 30 works of original outdoor sculpture and miles of walking paths. It has the largest public horticulture library in the United States, conservatories, a wildflower garden, two rose gardens, the Southern Living garden, and Japanese Gardens with a traditionally crafted tea house.
