An exhibition of botanical printing, “Artful Collaborations on Paper and Cloth by Leonore Alaniz” continues now through February 10, 2013. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily in the Church Exhibition Gallery of the Lyman Plant House of the Botanic Garden at Smith College, 16 College Lane, Northampton, Massachusetts (map).

A reception with the artist will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today (November 9, 2012).

Nature Printing is a method of applying ink or dye to an object and imprinting its image onto paper, cloth, clay, or other surfaces. The process captures the detail and appeal of an insect, fish, feather, shell, rock, plant or the human body. Botanical printing specifically uses plants.
