Here’s a chance to wander 15 acres of sunflowers, Road Trips Gardeners. The Sunflower Farm, 1430 Durden Road, Rutledge, Georgia (map), is open for U-pick sunflower cuttings from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. now through July 14, 2013.

Exception: The 12th annual Sunflower Farm Festival weekend! From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 6 and 7, 2013, you can still cut your own sunflowers, but you can also tour the farm, shop the 1891 sharecroppers’ country market, taste some local BBQ, take a hay ride, wander the artists’ area and ride a zip-line over the sunflowers. Weekend passes are $8.

Sunflower Farm is a family operation now in its fifth generation, celebrating 76 years this summer.
