Flower of the Day: Clover
When you’re hoping for a ground cover, along comes white clover!
It’s not exactly a flower that a gardener would buy (although farmers make great use of it).
For household use, it does cover the ground quite job nicely (and, the honeybees will thank you).
According to Wikipedia, clover (Trifolium), or trefoil, is a genus of about 300 species of plants in the leguminous pea family Fabaceae. The genus has a cosmopolitan distribution, and the highest diversity is found in the temperate Northern Hemisphere.
This example was snapped on the grounds of the Hardman Farm in Sautee, Georgia, this spring.
