Flower of the Day: Clover

Submitted by on July 6, 2013 – 8:05 amNo Comment

cloverWhen you’re hoping for a ground cover, along comes white clover!

It’s not exactly a flower that a gardener would buy (although farmers make great use of it).

According to Wikipedia, clover (Trifolium), or trefoil, is a genus of about 300 species of plants in the leguminous pea family Fabaceae. The genus has a cosmopolitan distribution, and the highest diversity is found in the temperate Northern Hemisphere.

This example was snapped on the grounds of the Hardman Farm in Sautee, Georgia, this spring.
