Flower of the Day: Firecracker Flower
These bright yellow flowers were captured earlier this week by our intrepid photographer.
According to Wikipedia, Crossandra infundibuliformis (firecracker flower), is a species of flowering plant in the family Acanthaceae, native to southern India and Sri Lanka — but the signage on this one in the Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens in Rockford, Illinois, says that it’s native to tropical Africa.
Anybody know which is correct?
