Desert Plant Sale
Looking for plants that survive in desert conditions? This sale is for you, Road Trips Gardeners.
The Plant Sale at the Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 N. Galvin Parkway Phoenix, Arizona (map), claims the largest variety of arid-adapted plants in one location.
Garden volunteers and horticulturists will be on hand to answer questions, assist in plant selections and offer advice. There is also a used book sale with a wide variety of subjects with all proceeds benefiting the Garden’s library. A large variety of specialty retailers will be there, offering unique pottery and other garden accessories.
There is no admission charge to enter the Fall Plant Sale, taking place 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 12, 2013, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 13, 2013.
If you’d rather plan ahead, the next one will be March 15 and 16, 2014.
The selection includes trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, cacti, agaves and much more. View a list of plants generally, but not always, offered at the sales.
