Flower of the Day: Cosmos
From its origins in southern North America, Central America and South America, this hardy field flower has spread worldwide.
These colorful blooms were growing wild along a sidewalk near downtown Steveston, Scotland, in late September.
According to Wikipedia, cosmos is a genus, with the same common name of cosmos, of about 20–26 species of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae.
