Enchanted: A Zoo and a Forest of Lights
Two places to see holiday lights in Los Angeles this month are Descanso Gardens and the Los Angeles Zoo.
“Enchanted: Forest of Light” at Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge, California, is an interactive, nighttime experience featuring a one-mile walk through lighting experiences. Hours are 5:30 to 10 p.m. through January 7, 2018; tickets have timed entry and must be purchased in advance.
Animal-themed displays are on view through January 7, 2018, at L.A. Zoo Lights in the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, 5333 Zoo Drive, Griffith Park, Los Angeles, California. On the self-guided 60 to 90-minute walk, Road Trips Gardeners will see 3-D projections, lasers, and thousands upon thousands of LEDs. New features include a water show with new music and lasers, and a “Wild Wonderland” finale. Ticket prices start at $10.
At the time of this writing, neither the zoo nor the gardens were affected by any of the Southern California wildfires, but that’s something to check before starting a road trip to Los Angeles in this time of climate change.)
