Frederik Meijer Gardens Celebrates 25 Years Today
April 20, 1995: It’s been a quarter century since the first visitors arrived at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
What started with the dream of Betsy Borre and the West Michigan Horticultural Society, and Fred & Lena Meijer’s vision has grown into an internationally recognized destination that’s drawn millions to West Michigan and has become Michigan’s second most popular tourist destination.
And, the gardens are closed to the public due to COVID-19. Therefore, the celebration is virtual today.
Road Trips Gardeners can join the festivities online.
In the meantime: a video.
