Orchids come in a surprising range of shapes, sizes and colors, all of which can be found at the London Orchid Show in the Westminster neighborhood of the United Kingdom’s capital city March 20 and 21, 2010. Browse from hundreds of orchids on sale by specialist growers from home and abroad, and receive expert advice on all aspects of orchid care. New for 2010 is the addition of the Botanical Art Show: 40 botanical artists will be showcasing their best illustrations and vying for Royal Horticultural Society Medals. Displays will also be complimented by rare orchid paintings and books, paintings of RHS-awarded orchid hybrids and photographs from orchid hunting expeditions. Further artistic displays will be demonstrated by the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies. Talks and demonstrations on choosing and growing orchids are scheduled during both days of the show. Road Trips Gardeners headed across the pond will find the Orchid Show in the RHS Horticultural Halls, Greycoat Street and Vincent Square, London. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both March 20 and 21, with a preview from 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 19, 2010. Admission is £5 for adults; preview evening tickets (£10) include a glass of wine and re-entry to the show on either Saturday or Sunday.
