A Celtic Garden Tea Party

Here’s the perfect event for a summer’s afternoon, Road Trips Gardeners: a Celtic Garden Tea Party! It’s 1-4 p.m. Sunday (July 11, 2010) in Georgeson Botanical Garden, 117 West Tanana Drive, Fairbanks, Alaska — on the campus of University of Alaska Fairbanks. Oh, yeah, you get to see the garden — but there’ll be scones and shortbread and cakes and tea and such! Admission is $48.

The Georgeson is one of five botanical gardens in the nation to be a satellite test garden for the International Hardy Fern Foundation. Crafters shouldn’t miss the Dye Garden. The Fairbanks Weavers and Spinners Guild plants this garden every year with annuals and perennials that can be used as natural dyes.
