London’s Rain Garden
Next month, a new feature will open at the London Wetland Centre, part of the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust. With lush vegetation, a cascade of pools, flower meadows, creature towers and a pavilion, the new rain garden also will provide information on how to maximize the use of rain water in your own garden.
The Wetland Centre is a 105-acre natural haven in the heart of the English capital with walkways set amongst lakes, ponds, meadows and reed beds. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife including over 180 species of birds, water voles, amphibians, bats, grass snakes, slow worms, butterflies and moths.
