There’s no question that poinsettias are the flower of the season. Many botanical gardens across the country feature the brilliant bloom during exhibits at this time of the year, often including miniature train setups.

Here are some places to see poinsettias this year:

Conservatory Crossing combines model trains with brilliant poinsettias in the Garfield Park Conservatory in Indianapolis, Indiana, through December 31, 2010.

December Garden Holidays displays are open through December 31, 2010, in the various sections of the Botanic Garden of ABQ BioPark in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

A model train chugs along the Appalachian Trail at Gardenland Express, open now through January 2, 2011, at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, Missouri.

Holidays at the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio, includes poinsettias and a music box model train by garden railway designer Paul Busse. It’s open through January 5, 2011.

San Diego, California’s Botanical Building in Balboa Park has a poinsettia display open through January 5, 2011.
