A show judged by the the American Orchid Society will be held during the annual open house and fall plant sale at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, 4700 Southwest 58th Drive Gainesville, Florida. It’s set for October 15 and 16, 2011, and the hours both days are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free during the open house (regular admission is $6).

Kanapaha Botanical Gardens formally opened to the public in October of 1987, and the open house is its “birthday celebration”. In addition to viewing the botanical gardens, visitors can browse among about 40 booths selling a wide variety of plants.

The orchid show will take place inside Kanapaha’s entrance building.
