Garden Terraces in Zurich
Road Trips Gardeners on the road naturally gravitate toward gardens — even when selecting a restaurant.
Here are some summer garden terrace restaurants in Zürich, Switzerland, as selected by Zürich Tourism
A particular favorite on sunny summer days is the Pumpstation on the lakeside promenade, near Bellevue. Barbecue expert Baba is a master of the trade – what’s more, the restaurant serves the best baked potatoes with sour cream in the world!
Also enjoying a fantastic location is the Lake Side, complete with a spacious terrace, bar and conference center, situated directly on the lake. The restaurant specializes in fusion cuisine, but also serves fish, seafood and regional specialties.
Those who like things a little more peaceful should visit the garden of the Reithalle, housed in the building of the Gessnerallee theater, just a five-minute walk from Zürich Main Station and the Bahnhofstrasse.
In the very heart of Zürich is what is arguably the most beautiful garden in the city – at TAO’S (pictured), gourmets will discover an oasis celebrating Euro-Asian lifestyle.
The most beautiful sunsets, meanwhile, can be admired in the garden of the Romantik Seehotel Sonne, where guests can also tuck into organic hamburgers, bratwurst, battered fish and other culinary delicacies.
Further restaurant highlights are the Waid, with its large garden and spectacular view over all of Zürich, the Adlisberg, whose wooden tables and benches invite guests to linger and relax in the shade, and the Altes Klösterli in the Zürich Zoo, with its superb view of the Glatt valley and a menu featuring a host of traditional local specialties.
