The World Flower Show will be held in Ireland for the first time next year.
It’ll take place June 18 through 22, 2014, in the RDS, Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin, Ireland.
The World Flower Show, an exhibition of flower arrangements, is open to the public, but the event also will include a flower arrangers’ conference.
Other attractions will include floral demonstrations by Irish and international demonstrators from Barbados, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom and the United States of America; lectures including Seamus O’Brien on the Irish plantsman Augustine Henry, Prof George Sevastopulo on The Burren, and Dr Jenniferr Goff on Eileen Gray; social evenings at the Preview Party and Gala Banquet, and tours of public and private gardens
The Association of Irish Floral Artists (AOIFA) has been chosen by the World Association of Flower Arrangers (WAFA) to manage a three year programme, on its behalf, that will include organizing an international seminar, publishing a book, running educational events and tours, and staging the flower show.
AOIFA Ireland was founded in 1973 and now has 90 affiliated clubs in Ireland. WAFA is a not-for-profit organization of floral art societies.
