National Cherry Blossom Festival
The National Cherry Blossom Festival, held each year in Washington, D.C., is well underway.
This year’s Festival commemorates the 102nd anniversary of the gift of the cherry blossom trees from Japan. They’re (usually) in bloom this time of year around the Tidal Basin.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade takes place from 10 a.m. ’til noon April 12, 2014. The Parade marches down Constitution Avenue with performances, entertainment, floats, giant helium balloons and dance troupes.
The Festival continues through April 13, 2014.
