bueltman-robert_photogramIt’s not often that an artist comes up with a new way of seeomg. Robert Bueltman has done just that.

Without using either camera or lens, Buelteman’s technique — which he has dubbed photograms — has more in common with Japanese ink brush painting and improvisational jazz than it does with the current practices of photography. Each delivery of light, like every brush stroke or note played, is unrehearsed, and, once released, cannot be undone.

Plants are his subjects for “Signs of Life: Photograms by Robert Buelteman” at the Denver Botanic Garden, 1007 York Street, Denver, Colorado. The exhibit continues through August 3, 2014.
