Most tourists head to Xi’an, China, to see the terra cotta warriors — that army assembled to protect an ancient ruler in the afterlife.
Your Road Trips Gardener, however, was distracted by the bougainvillea outside the buildings sheltering the archaelogical site.
The magnificence of the blossoms gives a clue as to the summmertime heat (the photo was taken in early August 2014).
