Horticultural Expo in Qingdao
Qingdao, a city on China’s east coast, is the host for 2014 International Horticultural Expo. The exhibit, open now, runs through October 25, 2014.
It features a 23,000-square-meter botanical gardens, which uses low-carbon climate-control systems to regulate temperatures for the various plant climates, and features 2,000 rare or new strains of plants.
Once a mining region, the Expo area has transformed old mining pits and degraded land into an eco-oasis.
In addition to the plant exhibits, the Expo also features water parks, rides, performances and an ice bar (from Sweden’s famed Ice Hotel).
