Headed to the North Star State next weekend, Road Trips Gardener? Swing by Mantorville, Minnesota, for the 29th annual Marigold Days, set for September 6 and 7, 2014.

This celebration of the humble, hearty and colorful little flower native to the Americas began as a flower show. Marigold Dairies sponsored the planting of marigolds throughout the community.

Marigold Days is more than the blossom, of course — although there will be a flower show. Look also for an antique and flea market, quilt show, car show, music, food, a parade, fireworks and melodramas.

Marigold Days is a fundraising event planned and conducted by the Mantorville Restoration Association.
