Pomegranates and Persimmons

Rosseyanka persimmon fruit halvedYour Road Trips Gardener had a grandfather who thought everything he planted in his backyard should work as hard as he did. So, we had raspberry bushes and an asparagus plot and cherry trees and a grape arbor.

The same impetus informs Edible Landscaping, 361 Spirit Ridge Lane, Afton, Virginia. Yes, they specialize in gardening with things you can eat.

Each fall they have a festival spotlighting persimmons and pomegranates. There’ll be fresh fruit tasting and goodies made with the fruit as well as lots of information on which you should grow in your own garden. This year, it’s set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 25, 2014.
