Chrysanthemum Show in Taiwan
A particularly Chinese tone infuses the 2014 CKS Shilin Residence Chrysanthemum Show, which opens tomorrow (November 15) and runs through November 30, 2014, at No. 60, Fulin Road, Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan.
In Cantonese, the pronunciation of “2014” is similar to “love-you-for-life” — so that’s the theme for this year’s show, arranged by the Parks and Street Lights Office of the Public Works Department.
The exhibition is divided into 9 different areas – “Expressing Your Love,” “The Eye of Love,” “Reverence between Teacher and Students,” “Promise,” “Yes, I do!” “Web of Love,” “Love of Fresh Chrysanthemum,” “Love Bird,” and “Love without Bounds.” The different display areas highlight the various degrees of love and care, expressing the warm emotion through floral arts.
Throughout the show, community groups and street artists will perform dance, traditional glove puppetry and clown shows. There are also lessons on floral arts and gardening seminars scheduled throughout the 16-day floral fest.
