Flower of the Day: Edelweiss
Your Road Trips Gardener was surprised to find this familiar flower growing in a most unfamiliar place last July.
Turns out that edelweiss abounds in Hustai National Park in Mongolia.
According to Wikipedia, Leontopodium alpinum is part of the Asteraceae (daisy/sunflower) family. It’s described as a scarce, short-lived flower found in remote mountain areas.
No sign of Julie Andrews, though.
