Longwood’s Chrysanthemum Festival

pennsylvania_longwood_mumThe Chrysanthemum Festival at Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, showcases the Asian tradition of cultivating chrysanthemums into artistic shapes — all on view through November 23, 2014.

Inside the four-acre Conservatory are more than 80,000 chrysanthemum blooms that have been nurtured and trained into a variety of forms, including shields, spirals, cascades, balls and a 10-foot tall yellow chandelier.

Centerpiece is the Thousand Bloom Mum, featuring more than 1,500 perfectly arranged flowers (see this video):
