Detroit Flower Week
Detroit Flower Week is a conference set for October 11 through 15, 2016, that will bring floral designers and flower farmers to the Motor City for a week of presentations, workshops, and a botanical marketplace in the Jam Handy Building, 2900 East Grand Bouelvard, Detroit, Michigan.
Last year, Lisa Waud launched a large-scale, sustainable flower exhibit called Flower House, a full house floral installation that brought florists together to fill the walls and ceilings of an abandoned Detroit house she had purchased for $500.
The effort garnered worldwide attention and helped to not only fund her Detroit-based flower farm but also “explained the possibilities available in the vast and available agricultural landscape in Detroit.”
Tickets can be for one day or workshop or the entire week. There’s more information online.
