Azalea Festival in Roswell, Georgia
The annual Azalea Festival takes place April 1 through 30, 2017, in Roswell, Georgia.
It’s a full month of festivities. Of course azaleas will be in bloom throughout town, but there are also some special flower-centric events.
Listen to a talk and take a tour of azaleas on the grounds of the Archibald Smith Plantation, 935 Alpharetta Street, Roswell, Georgia, at 10 a.m. April 22, 2017. The free tour begins on the front porch of the main house. Janet Rigsby, Horticulturalist and Historic Garden Consultant, will discuss the various types of azaleas that bloom every spring at Smith Plantation.
Walter Reeves, tagged The Georgia Gardener, talks about “Landscaping for Spring Color” at 11 a.m. April 29, 2017, at the Roswell Visitors Bureau, 617 Atlanta Street, Roswell, Georgia. This free event is sponsored by the Roswell Garden Club and the Roswell Convention and Visitors Bureau. He’ll hold a question and answer session after his presentation, so Road Trips Gardeners should bring plants, weeds, photos and questions.
A Garden Faire from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 29, 2017, will be held at Historic Bulloch Hall, 180 Bulloch Avenue, Roswell, Georgia. The event, which includes garden demonstrations and sales, is sponsored by the north Fulton Master Gardeners.
