Petal to Plate, Carlsbad, California“Petal to Plate” is a 10-day celebration of flowers, wellness, food and drink to be held in 12 different locations in Carlsbad, California, April 20 through 30, 2017.

Organized by Visit Carlsbad, this inaugural event includes events at hotels, restaurant, spas and golf courses.

Local chefs and mixologists are working on floral-inspired menus of experiences for enjoyment beyond The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. Guests are invited to tour the fields and taste the delights of spring back in town with participating bars and restaurants.

“Petal to Plate” coincides with a new edition of the American Grown Field to Vase Dinner Tour, an annual event that places seasonal, local and sustainable American Grown flowers at the center of the table alongside locally grown food, beer, and wine from the region. This year, the Field to Vase dinner takes place April 20 in Carlsbad.

A sampling of the 12 floral-inspired culinary and wellness experiences includes:

They’ll also feature flowers in the Art of Aromatherapy class, and include lavender, neroli and rose-geranium scents. Bistro 65 will offer floral craft cocktails such as Rosebiscus Citron Vodka, Wild Hibiscus Prosecco, Pansy & Cucumber Splash, Chamomile Whiskey Tea, Rosewater Hard Lemonade, and the Elderflower Gin Cocktail.

They have also created a Field to Flowers Board featuring candied clementine, lavender and wild fennel pollen goat cheese, wildflower honey, sprouted sunflower crostini, and star daisy, and a Hibiscus Sorbet (pictured above, left) for dessert.
