Steed and Company LavenderThe heady scent of fields of lavender welcome Road Trips Gardeners to a selection of agri-tourism destinations in Ontario, Canada — including lavender farms and shops. It’s called, appropriately enough, the Purple Road.

These are some of the stops:

  • Apple Hill Lavender is a century-old family farm growing apples as well as English and French lavenders. Fresh and dried lavender, distilled essential oil and lavender products are sold in the farm gift shop from May through December. Apples are sold during harvest season.
  • Elena’s Organic Garden offers lavender bouquets, buds, sachets, pillow inserts, oils, mists, soap, and cream. Their lavender buds are all of culinary grade.
  • From the Meadow features creams, massage oils and soap products are made in a base of Certified Organic Soya Oil.
  • Steed & Company is a lavender farm within a horse farm.

All are members of the Ontario Lavender Association.
