Roses in Baden Baden, Germany
The Rose Festival of Baden-Baden, Germany, fills the entire month of June.
It’s the 65th International Competition for New Rose Varieties, drawing rose experts and growers from many countries to the Rose Society Garden on Beutig Hill.
Organized by Gartenamt Baden-Baden, the Competition for New Rose Varieties is now one of Europe’s most important competitions focusing on new rose varieties. The Golden Rose of Baden-Baden is therefore considered to be one of Europe’s most important awards for new rose varieties.
Garden visitors also have the opportunity this year to participate in the competition by selecting their personal favorites from among the new varieties — the winner gets the public award for the most beautiful rose.
The Baden-Baden Philharmonic will perform works by Mozart, Carla Maria von Weber and Johann Strauss in the center of the Rose Garden at 8 p.m. both June 23 and 24, 2017.
