Celebrating Trees in Public Gardens
Forty-two detailed images of trees, all of them cultivated in public gardens and arboreta throughout the United States and around the world are on exhibit at “Out of the Woods: Celebrating Trees in Public Gardens”.
This, the third New York Botanical Garden Triennial, is open through April 22, 2018, in the Ross Gallery of the New York Botanical Garden, 2900 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, New York. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Out of the Woods” is a collaboration with the American Society of Botanical Artists, which is headquartered at the Garden.
Working in watercolor, oil, graphite, colored pencil, and ink, an international collection of artists has depicted everything from seed pods, to branches and bark, to an entire forest floor. Several contributors are graduates of the Garden’s Botanical Art and Illustration Certificate Program.
