Close and Closer: Photographs by James Reis
“Close and Closer” is the theme for an exhibition of photographs of the Arnold Arboretum by James Reis. The arboretum, part of Harvard University, has not only large plants — such as trees — but micro environments needing closer inspection.
From February 9 through May 6, 2018, close up images by Reis will be on view in the Hunnewell Building, 125 Arborway, Boston, Massachusetts. As Reis describes his work, “No two days are the same, between the angle of the sun, the weather, and the many spots where we become delightfully stuck. While my lens is a frail approximation of eye and heart, it pulls me out the door and into the delicate realms of plant, fungi, insect, and seed.”
An opening reception is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. February 10, 2018. A “walk and talk” with the photographer begins at 2 p.m. April 29, 2018.
The exhibition is free.
