An orchid show is underway at the Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through March 25, 2018.

Road Trips Gardeners will visit a tropical oasis brimming with vibrant blooming orchids at the show, which features a rotating display of hundreds of orchids from the Garden’s collection.

Peer through “lush foliage, bubbling fountains, and trailing vines” in the Orthwein Floral Display Hall. Explore the “orchid mania” of the Victorian era, a time when passionate plant enthusiasts sought to collect and cultivate newly discovered orchid species, “no matter what the trial, tribulation or cost”.

If your travels take you to St. Louis February 22, March 8 or 22, 2018, consider buying a ticket for “Orchid Night“. The display will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. those dates. A cash bar and “small bites” are additional.
