Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, PennsylvaniaHey, Road Trips Gardeners: this is your chance to see the “Champion Trees” of Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, on a guided tour.

This tour explores “the biggest, tallest, and oldest trees at Longwood”. Participants will measure and record tree circumferences, heights and spreads, and discuss tree identification, structure, and natural history.

It’s an all-day event, taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. September 28, 2018. The $99 fee includes a boxed lunch and a copy of the book, “Big Trees of Pennsylvania”.

This is a rain or shine outdoor experience. Please dress for all types of weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. You may be walking on uneven paths. Tour departs promptly from the Catalpa Room with the instructor, Scott Wade.

If you’re interested, don’t wait to sign up. Tours and workshops at Longwood generally sell out (but they do maintain a wait list when it does).
