What’s claimed to be the largest display of chrysanthemums in the United States opened last week at Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

The exhibition continues through November 18, 2019, when the conservatory closes to get ready for the holiday flower show. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For the mum extravaganza, the Longwood Gardens’ horticulture experts work daily throughout the seasons to nurture and train more than 17,000 chrysanthemums into giant orbs, spirals, pagodas, columns, and unique forms — including a traditional fan shape making its debut this year.

Centerpiece is the Thousand Bloom Mum — a single plant bearing more than 1,000 perfect blooms on one stem — takes our display to a whole new level.
