Keukenhof 2019: Flower Power
“Flower Power” is the theme for next year’s bulb extravaganza at Keukenhof, Stationsweg 166A, Lisse, Netherlands.
Bright colors, hippies, peace, and music — “Flower Power” will have that early 1970s vibe.
In 2019, Keukenhof will have another 50,000 tulip mosaic. It’s been planted in two layers to extend its flowering during the spring. The mosaic is 250 square meters in size, and 50,000 bulbs were used: tulips, grape hyacinths and crocuses.
Keukenhof is of exceptional importance to Dutch tourism. Annually, more than one million visitors from at least 100 countries are received, especially from Germany, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and China.
Next year, Keukenhof will be open from March 21 through May 19, 2019.
Keukenhof’s gardeners planted the first bulbs for the flower mosaic Flower Power yesterday (October 4). This marked the start of the planting of seven million bulbs for coming year’s display.
